More about the importance of wheel alignment

Once your new GAZ Shocks have been fitted, adjustments will need to be made to the wheels of your car to make sure they are all in even contact with the road. Our system uses the latest technology to accurately measure the position of each wheel and the angle at which it sits on the road. The system uses four high definition cameras to look at targets attached to each wheel. Once the basic measurement process has been completed the aligner software generates a complete image of the vehicles wheel alignment. This means that adjustments can be made both with the vehicle on its wheels or jacked up for easy access to the suspension components, also caster adjustments can be made in real time.

Why is corner weighting important in the installation of GAZ Shocks?

You may have heard terms such as "centre of gravity", "weight distribution" or "weight transfer". Corner weighting is the means of accurately weighing a car at its four points of contact with the ground – its tyres. The components of your vehicle, such as the engine, chassis, fuel tank etc. are not evenly distributed across its total weight. Once we know how your vehicles weight is distributed across its four tyres we can make the correct adjustments in your suspension set-up to actively counteract this. This ensures the best possible handing, grip and ride.

Other considerations:

Brake bias adjustment

Some vehicles that are fitted with a brake bias system may require resetting or adjustment after installation of your new shock absorbers and springs.

Mechanical ABS sensor adjustment

Some vehicles that are fitted with mechanical ABS sensors may require resetting or adjustment after installation of your new shock absorbers and springs.

Whether you are fitting aftermarket suspension for your road car or race car suspension in your chosen pursuit of motorsport our GAZ Shock's fitting service guarantees that you will get the optimum performance from your new GAZ suspension kit.
